Steven Blades is a British actor, writer and award winning producer. Known for creating films such as Recoil, The Wild Card & Become The Legend. His acting breakthrough came when he was cast as Ethan in Mathew Hopes All The Devils Men, opposite Milo Gibson, Sylvia Hoeks, Gbenga Akinnagbe & William Fichtner. Blades was born (as Steven Bartle) on July 20, 1989 in Killamarsh, North East Darbyshire. He moved to Halfway, Sheffield with his mother Susan Blades in 1994. Blades attended Halfway Infant & Junior school before finishing his academic teenage years at Westfield comprehensive school. Classroom education never fulfilled his desires and consequently he was expelled in his final year. Blades entered into Royal Marines Commando training at 16 and completed the grueling 32 weeks selection process. He was first drafted to 45 Commando in Arbroath, Scotland and went on to serve in remote places such as Afghanistan & Malaysia. In 2010 Blades was medically discharged from the military, as he was involved in a physical altercation which left him blind in his right eye. The years that followed were extremely dark for him. His mental state was effected and subsequently he nearly took his own life. Blades found his life calling in 2013 when he began to study acting. He sold his possessions to fund the move to London and began working as an extra while he studied. Within 2 years he had appeared in 7 films & a TV series. He teamed up with director Nick Cohen to create Become The Legend and The Wild Card, where Blades made his first appearance as a leading man. In 2016 Blades held the leading role in George Moores medieval film, God Save The King. Two days into filming his horse through him off mid take and subsequently broke both his wrists. Blades had his bones reset and both hands/wrists placed in casts. He returned to set the following morning and finished the rest of the shoot. The film went on to receive a nomination for best director and was selected into numerous film festivals. Blades didn't have time to rest as he needed to gain weight to play the role of Alex in Recoil, opposite Roxanne Pallett. He began weight training while his wrists were still in casts and ended up putting on 20lbs of muscle for role. Recoil was based on the dark period Blades went through while leaving the Royal Marines. Blades once again, teamed up with Nick Cohen to create this iconic film, which went on to win Best Thriller at the Los Angeles Film Awards. In 2017 Blades starred as Mr Revel in Tom Dunhams Bluff, which went on to be selected into Cannes 2018. Blades was also cast as Scar in the action packed Outlawed, directed by Adam Collins. But he ended 2017 with a bang when he landed a role in Mathew Hopes All The Devils Men. The Milo Gibson lead film, will receive its cinema release in late 2018 - IMDb Mini Biography By: Representative
