Ron Blanchard was born and raised in the now world famous 9th ward of New Orleans. His love for acting began while attending Nicholls State University in Thibodaux Louisiana during the late seventies. The bulk of his acting work over the years has been mostly in theatre performing with several groups but the majority of his theatrical performances have been with the original works and sketch comedy troupe, Shine Productions. In 2017 Ron landed his first major film role in Eat, Brains, Love. His other film credits include a sizzle reel for TLC network, Sex Ruined my Marriage, and a 48 Hour Film project, Run. A few of his favorite past characters from theatrical performances include: The Herald from Marat Sade, Uncle Charley in Death of a Salesman, the Evil Prince in the Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood and the re-occurring roles of beloved Saints coach Bum Phillips, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, The Beer Man and Papal Popes, both Francis and Benedict from the original sketch comedy works of Shine Productions series, Bless Ya Boys. Ron is also an accomplished drummer who has played and recorded with several bands, most notably Totally Cold the fore running group to the enormously popular 80's new wave band, The Cold and The Tea Sea where he recorded his first CD Steep, 1998.
