Juani Feliz is a bi-coastal actress, born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx. She comes from a really close knit family, consisting of her mother, father and three sisters. Juani started acting at the age of 14 after getting involved in her first play, Othello, at her middle school in the Bronx. It did not take long for Juani to realize that this is something she wanted to take seriously and do for the rest of her life. Juani spent her summer before high school digging up information about how to turn her passion for acting into a career. Soon after, Juani found her first talent manager and immediately started auditioning for TV, film and commercials. Throughout high school. Juani booked her first few speaking roles in TV and film and joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2005. When it came time for college, Juani was accepted to the prestigious Harvard College and made her way to Cambridge, MA. After a few months of traveling back and forth to NY for acting auditions, Juani decided it was time to put acting on hold while she focused on her studies. Also a science geek at heart, Juani decided to explore another one of her interests in college and pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering. After college, Juani spent a few years working at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering in Boston. There she had the pleasure of working on a phase I clinical trial for a melanoma cancer vaccine, as well as the development of novel drug delivery systems and biomaterials. During this time, Juani also pursued a Master's degree in Management at Harvard. Despite having a blooming career in bioengineering, Juani's heart yearned to act and be on a set. She worked on a number of theater and film projects in Boston, and after graduate school, moved back to NYC to pursue acting full-time. Since her return, Juani has worked on various film and TV projects including The Purge: Election Year, Canal Street, Shades of Blue, Blue Bloods, etc. Juani's goal is to play roles and tell stories of Latina women that break the mold and defy the stereotypes of young Latina women in America, just as she has been able to do in real life.
