Katie McGovern grew up in New York and Connecticut, as the oldest of four children. Her father is an Irish-American from the Bronx, New York, and worked for Warner Brothers at Rockefeller Center. Her mother is from Cleveland, Ohio, and is related to composer Richard Wager. After graduating from Harvard with a Bachelor of Arts, Katie was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Germany. Subsequently, she was selected for a Rotary Scholarship and received a masters degree in France. After working in London, Katie was recruited by the CIA. At the introductory meeting, Katie realized that the most attractive part of the job for her would be becoming other characters, and decided to be an actress instead. Katie trained at HB Studios in New York, and with Vincent Schiavelli, Allan Miller, and English and American dubbing directors in Italy. She landed film and television roles in the US and Europe.
