Since his graduation from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2006, Stefán Hallur has worked with professional international and local representation in theater including the National Theater of Iceland, Reykjavík City Theater, Vesturport, VérMorðingjar, Sokkabandið, Aldrei Óstelandi, LabLoki, ART (USA) and CDN Orléans (FRA) to name but a few. THEATER As a resident at the National Theater of Iceland from 2006 he has portrayed a variety of main cast roles such as Edward in KING LEAR, Lövborg in HEDDA GABLER, Macbeth in MACBETH, Dionysos in THE BACCHAE, Hans in Sofi Oksanen's PURGE, Fjalla- Eyvindur in FJALLA-EYVINDUR and Lúkas in LÚKAS for which he received a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2013 at The Icelandic Theater Awards. He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for THE CRUCIBLE at the National Theater that same year. Stefán Hallur portrayed Jeff Skilling in Reykjavík City Theaters production of ENRON in 2010, and has also starred in various independent productions, both Icelandic and international including Vesturports WOYZECK, Sokkabandiðs HÉR OG NÚ in Finland and Germany and CDN Orléans (FRA) production of JULIUS CAESAR, in collaboration with ART (USA) in France and Colombia in 2012. He also starred in Vesturports production of BASTARDS at Reykjavík City Theater in 2012 and THE DEEP, a one-man show in English in 2013 at Harpa Music Hall. Directing and producer credits in association with the National Theater of Iceland, The Ministry of Education and The Association of Independent Theaters include PENETRATOR and THE CENSOR by Anthony Neilson, THE UGLY ONE by Marius Von Mayenburg and AFTER THE END by Dennis Kelly. Latest directing credit being Stefán Hallurs own adaptation of Saint-Exuperys LE PETIT PRINCE at the National Theater in 2014. TV&FILM Stefán Hallur has been featured in several foreign and domestic TV series and sitcoms. SENSE8 for Netflix (USA), HERZEN AUF EIS and WEGENER PROJECT for ZDF (GER) and THE SOLVEIG KARLDOTTIR MYSTERIES for ARD (GER). Icelandic credits include PRESSA and RÉTTUR 2 for which he recieved a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Icelandic Film&TV Awards in 2010.
