Mexico City native Christian Lanz has lived and worked throughout Latin America and the United States, where he enjoyed a career as a licensed Architect for several years before migrating to Hollywood and becoming one of the industry's most prolific bilingual voice-over announcers and actors. Born in Mexico City to a Mexican father and a Chilean mother, Christian spent over 15 years living throughout Mexico before becoming a naturalized U.S. Citizen. Equally proficient and accent-free in both English and Spanish, Christian Lanz truly represents the voice of the new cross-cultural U.S. media market. A four-time Voice Arts Award winner and thirteen-time nominee with several thousand commercials, promos, and movie trailers to his credit in both English and Spanish, Lanz is a veteran voice actor and broadcast announcer with an extensive recurring client list of leading global brands, TV networks, and film studios in addition to his work in animation and video games. He also serves as the live announcer for the network telecasts of The Daytime Emmy Awards, The LA Emmy Awards, The TV Land Awards, The American Cinematheque Awards, and Hallmark Channel's Hero Dog Awards as well as appearing on camera as a spokesman and actor in dozens of national commercials and television projects. For his elementary school education, Christian attended The Mirman School in Los Angeles along with fellow actor Masi Oka. He then attended high school at The Oakwood School in North Hollywood, CA. After graduating high school, he worked as a ranch hand in the mountains of southern Chile for a year before attending college and architecture school at the prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City) from 1995 until graduating in 2000. While attending architecture school, Christian worked as a translator, English teacher and certified personal trainer. He was nominated for the prestigious "Premio Pani" Architectural Award in 2001 for his work in green/sustainable architectural design. Christian's years of living and working in such culturally diverse locations as Mexico City, Chile, Costa Rica, Colorado, and Los Angeles have provided the multicultural actor with the opportunity to hone his ear for dialects and accents, allowing him to cross over effortlessly between the general and Hispanic media markets for both voice-over as well as on-camera projects and making him one of the industry's most sought-after bilingual voice-over announcers and actors. As a young immigrant, Lanz first learned to speak English at the age of six by watching legendary voice actor Frank Welker as "Fred" in the original "Scooby Doo" animated television series. 30 years later, Lanz would have the privilege of working alongside his childhood idol Welker on the new "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated" television series after joining the cast in the show's second season, along with appearances in several other "Scooby-Doo" series and films thereafter. Christian has also lent his voice to a variety of recurring characters on some of the most popular animated TV shows and video games, perhaps most notably as the vain and scheming "Chancellor Esteban" on Disney's "Elena of Avalor", the ruthless villain "Xever" (and his mutant alter-ego "Fishface") on Nickelodeon's massively successful "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series, and as "Puss in Boots" for DreamWorksTV's animated series, "Epic Cat Battles with Puss in Boots", a role which earned Lanz his first Voice Arts Award for Best TV Animation Voiceover in 2016 as well as numerous recurring and guest-star roles on Netflix's "Spy Kids: Mission Critical", "Spirit Riding Free", multiple iterations of "Scooby-Doo", "Sofia the First", "Curious George", and others. Known for often portraying suave Latino characters, Lanz often voice-doubles for actors Antonio Banderas, Ricardo Montalban, and "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in addition to voicing a varied assortment of characters on many blockbuster video game titles. In his spare time, Christian enjoys playing guitar in his professional home recording studio, snowboarding, photography, and working on home improvement and design projects. A devoted automotive "gearhead" and lifelong aviation and motorsports enthusiast, he also enjoys building and flying model airplanes, tuning performance cars, taking road trips with his family, and spending weekends at their mountain cabin in Lake Arrowhead, CA. He resides with his wife and two sons in Los Angeles, CA. - IMDb Mini Biography By: SBV Talent
