Jeroen van Koningsbrugge graduated from both de Toneelschool Maastricht as de Kleinkust Academie in Amsterdam. When he was still studying, he was approached by Theu Boermans for his first role in a play called Hamlet, that has also won the Gouden Gids Publieksprijs in 1998. After that, more plays followed such as Jeff Koons (by Theu Boermans), Hooligans (by Peter Pluijmaekrs), Vrolikstraat 26 Huis (by Marcus Azzini) and Leven in Hel (by Ramey Nasr). In the years that passed after that, he performed in the musical De Scheepsjongens van de Bontekoe (Peter de Baan) and plays such as Gilamesi (by Theu Boermans) and Orkater's De Kortste Eeuw (by Gijs de Lange). Jeroen gained public attention when he performed the role of Harry Peeters in a drama series called I.C., by RTL, in which he played for three seasons. In 2016, Jeroen also played the leading role in the film Riphagen, directed by Pieter Kuijpers. This film was broadcast as a three-part series on television in 2017. In October 2017, Jeroen won the Zilveren Televizier Ster for best actor. Since 2014, he plays the leading role in the police series Smeris, of which a fourth season was released in 2018, for which he also directed some episodes.
