Michael Thomas Wallace was born in Syracuse, New York, to Linda and Michael Wallace, and was the first of their three children. The Wallace family settled to Baldwinsville, New York, where Michael attended and graduated from Charles W. Baker High School. Michael first performed as a singer and comedian in "Vaudeville" a variety show held at the Mae E. Reynolds Elementary School auditorium. He attended an open audition in Canandaigua, New York, for the "Beginnings" acting workshop in June of 1993 and beat out hundreds of other aspiring actors for a spot to perform at the Orpheum Theatre in New York City. Though he received no formal acting training, after "Beginnings", Wallace segued into an acting career, appearing in over 20 commercials as well as the off-Broadway plays "The Lottery"(1998), "Beyond Therapy"(1999), and "Bachelor Holiday"(2000). He first attracted serious film attention with his performance as the love confused minor league baseball player in Rounding Home(2006).
